Denver!

Up at 0400hrs this morning as we had to leave for the airport at 0530hrs for our 2 hour flight to Denver. If we don't see another airport or take another flight for a while we will be blessed as it is very taxing; so many people and security to go through; makes you feel safe though.

A light breakfast with everyone in the foyer of the hotel before departing on a coach to the airport.
Getting through check-in was a little easier today as we went through as a group and only had to scan our passports to get our boarding passes which was great! Sitting in the departure lounge was interesting as the view out the window was of the plane that crashed on landing the other day minus its tail of course. Very friendly captain and flight crew this morning. The captain asked us all about where we are going and hoped we enjoyed Sturgis; one of the flight attendants told us about his push biking around NZ.

Denver International Airport is huge! It has a train that gets you around the gates and baggage claim.
Leaving the airport on the shuttle we were just about in Aurora when we saw a sign stating that we had just left the airport!!

First stop in Denver was the Harley shop to pick up the bikes. The good thing about these bikes is that they are all under a year old so well up to date which makes them a little more reliable; can a Harley be reliable? So looking forward to getting out there and riding. It was around the corner to the petrol station as a quick sort out ride before heading out onto the freeway to Bolder.

We chose a Ultra Classic which is pretty much the top of the line as far as HD goes but we thought if you are going to do it do it in style, well just about anyway! I will take  photo of it with Jude's camera as I can download these ones and post it next time.

From Aurora it was down to Boulder and the Best Western for the night. These freeways are very busy even when they are quiet. Boulder is a tourist and university town so everything doesn't open until 1000hrs but closes late at 2000hrs.

Across the road from the Best Western is a student bar called Dark Horse; this place is pretty cool and H&S would have a field day; great bear and good cheap food.
Tomorrow the Rockies and the first of our National Parks. Catch you after that!
